Vance Boelter's car found 1 day after targeted lawmaker shootings in Minnesota, according to government alert

This is a good sign

https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/vance-boelter-car-found-minnesota-lawmaker-shooting-suspect/

Authorities say they have found a vehicle belonging to the suspect identified in the targeted shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses.

Residents of Sibley County were sent an emergency alert stating the shooter's vehicle had been located near Minnesota Highway 25 and 301st Avenue in Faxon Township. The alert encouraged residents to lock their doors and secure their vehicles, adding that law enforcement will be going to area residences to ask to search properties.

The Minnesota State Patrol and U.S Marshals Service were among the agencies on scene in Sibley County Sunday morning. A discarded cowboy hat was also located on the scene, nearly 60 miles southwest from where the shootings took place.

Hortman and her husband were fatally shot at their home in Brooklyn Park early Saturday morning, officials said. Hoffman and his wife were shot and wounded roughly 5 miles away at their home in Champlin. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said the attacks were politically motivated.

3. He escaped on foot from the cops in Brooklyn Center and the police impounded his fake cop car.

How the hell did he get all the way out to Sibley County 60 miles away? Was his own car stowed away somewhere he could walk to? Did he have help? Was his wife involved? Curiouser and curiouser.

He escaped on foot out the back door of the second victims' home.
Into the woods. The cops got the fake cop car.

But now his car is found abandoned 60 miles away?

Perhaps he had the cop car hidden somewhere before the crimes.
Drove his own vehicle to the cop car and then took it on
the crime spree.

Or as you say he had an accomplice.

5. Did this have something to do with the wife and relatives they pulled over?

Did one of them drive his car out there and then she picked them up? It is all very confusing because that is not the car he was driving.

him to a second vehicle. Now the question is whether he had yet a third way to further escape (train? airport? a friendly driver?).

The car they pulled him over with was planted some time before he drove the truck to the Murrah building.
He left the truck & walked to the planted car.
This guy could have done the same thing as part of an exit plan.

Gotta wonder if others were involved.
This guy is not the “typical” mass murderer. He wasn’t trying to go out in a blaze of glory. He wanted to get away with it.

6. Looks like they think he is still in that area?

"There is a significant police presence here at a command center in Sibley County, not far from an address associated with the suspect in Green Isle and the area where a vehicle belonging to him has been found. Officers in tactical equipment are gathered here, and an emergency alert transmitted to cellphones urges people to keep their doors locked and their vehicles secure after a vehicle belonging to the suspect was found nearby."

The emergency alert says they'll be going to residences asking to search people's properties.

possible for dogs to pick up a scent -- it's carried on a person's skin cells, which are shed constantly.

Given his wife being stopped with weapons, ammo and passports, I can’t help but wonder if the car went one way and he went another. They seem a tad organized.

11. Is this the maroon Buick they were looking for in South Dakota?
Sun Jun 15, 2025, 02:24 PM

That's the only mention of a car they were searching for that I've seen related to him:

Law enforcement in the neighbouring state of South Dakota warned residents on Saturday afternoon to watch out for a maroon Buick, the Star Tribune reported, saying it was potentially being driven by "person of interest in the events that have happened in Minnesota" and could be travelling with someone considered "armed and dangerous".

It seems odd that they seem to have known he had a particular car he could have been using, but hadn't given out a description apart from in South Dakota.

"The police have blocked off a stretch of Route 25 here in Sibley County, between 311th Avenue and 291st Avenue. Farms line either side of the road, which links Green Isle, where the police searched a property linked to the suspect yesterday, and Belle Plaine, a bigger town of about 7,500 people."

I hope the dogs can help!
