Aaron Rupar commenting on Pope Leo's address, which I find very moving as a non-Catholic. Please take a few moments to read it below:
"In our competitive society, where it seems only the strong deserve to live, sport also teaches us how to lose. It forces us, in learning the art of losing, to confront our fragility, our limitations and our imperfections. It is through the experience of these limits that we open our hearts to hope. Athletes who never make mistakes, who never lose, do not exist."
Aaron's amusing comment about the White Sox aside, we can all learn something from these words. However, I can think of one old guy who celebrated his birthday yesterday who might learn the most from them.

(22,605 posts)and neither do such people. Unfortunately, most of my family is RW. Believe it or not, they have many positive character attributes. But the one that drives their political activity is an extreme sensitivity to criticism, and almost total lack of self-reflection. That's why they identify with trump and his attitude, I'm afraid.
