WHERE are our Representatives...?!?

I know that Bernie and AOC are out there on the trail. And I know that oligarchy is his big thing... BUT

WE KNOW THESE DETENTION CENTERS ARE MODERN-DAY CONCENTRATION CAMPS.

Our Congress people should be outside each and every one of these places every single day and so should all of our efforts in demonstrating. There's got to be more that we can do. There's got to be more that they can do! Another day, another week, means people are dying in custody. Don't think they aren't. I'm sure they're hiding plenty.. they just say oh we've deported them and they're disappeared.

We don't need this to go through the courts for weeks on end. We need action! So where the fuck is everybody!?

That's fromhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Congress

So, maybe we've only seen a handful in the press, speaking out, etc.

Where's the other 200?

We know that the Republicans are a lost cause at this point, but where is everybody else?

Your critique seems to suggest that Democratic representatives are idle or indifferent, a notion that is simply untrue. However, I understand your frustration. Actions like photo-ops, public weeping and passionate speeches can only achieve so much when the Democrats lack control over the Senate and the House.

Real change begins with SUPPORTING Democrats and voting for Democrats to regain the majority. Only then can meaningful progress be made. Until that happens, the political posturing we witness often amounts to little more than grandstanding, which does little to advance our goals.

Continually insinuating that Democrats "don't care" is not only inaccurate but also counterproductive. Such implications, no matter how subtly put, echo the fallacy that both parties are identical. Will this approach truly persuade voters to support Democrats? No, it won't. It only helps the GOP.

It's notable how figures like Bernie and AOC are given leeway for pursuing other initiatives, while the rest of the Democratic representatives are presumed to be inactive. Remember, they too have responsibilities, constituents, and limited resources to travel.

On a separate note, employing hyperbolic language like "Concentration Camp" can sometimes backfire. When reality doesn't match the extreme rhetoric, people may become desensitized to genuine issues. Precision in our expressions is crucial to maintaining the urgency of our causes.

I'm just saying that we need to step up the action.
And while I agree that voting is important I don't think we're going to get a chance to vote again.
I don't believe I'm being hyperbolic. It really is this urgent. It really is a matter of what we do now, because the future and any other elections are not guaranteed

ICE is like the gestapo and when it comes to migrants Trump is like Hitler.

This is according to the book written by Anonymous--the same one from the NYT articles. That was one of many policies they stopped Trump from doing in the first term including sending migrants to Guantanamo Bay.

I agree the truth is bad enough. The OP did say modern day so not everything is exactly the same but it is a starting point when it comes to Trump

However, even terms like "modern day" to describe "concentration camp" are inflammatory, inappropriate, or even harmful as they may minimize the severity and unique historical context of events like the Holocaust. You're making a weak distinction with no real difference. "Modern day concentration camp" does not imply that it's a "lite-version of a Nazi Concentration Camp". Instead, it's obviously intended to convey the message that the atrocities that happened in Nazi Concentration Camps are happening RIGHT NOW in "modern days" and that's simply not true.

When people realize that it's not actually like a Nazi concentration camp where people are being murdered, executed, cremated or bulldozed into mass graves... they they'll assume that all the other screaming and shouting is just as ridiculously hyperbolic and they'll ignore that too.

Sure, I get that the implication is that the current situation being referred to shares some similarities with historical concentration camps... it's NOT actually a concentration camp.

‘I’m the decision maker’: Hegseth snaps at Sen. Rosen over antisemitism claims at explosive hearing

Tensions boiled at Senate Armed Services Committee hearing as Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) pressed Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over antisemitic posts allegedly made by Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson. Rosen accused Hegseth of ignoring the issue and promoting Wilson despite growing public outrage, a move she claimed contradicts Trump’s stated stance against antisemitism. Hegseth pushed back hard, defending Wilson and blasting Rosen for 'mischaracterising' his team’s actions.
