How will this end?

This could have been avoided so easily. This could have benefited the American people. This could have been the result of different policies.

The “could haves” should have been taken care of ten years ago! The GoBers stood by and watched the fuse being lit! No one should be surprised by what is happening right now. An authoritarian regime and dictator has the country under siege and Trump is the one who is calling the shots again.

We all know how we got here, but do we and the GOBers know how much trouble we are facing? The GOBers don’t care or they would have stopped this along time ago.

I heard a few talking heads say that Trump’s declared war on Iran is a clear violation of our constitution and maybe impeachment proceedings should be brought? This was from some GOBer top people. But it’s not going to happen, because the GOBers can’t afford to give up their power under Trump.

So, where do we go from here? I have no idea. But all I can say is that our country is going to be attacked, either by a foreign country or by a domestic terror organization in the states which is under the control of Trump.

God help us all.

All the Republicans will come around and they will support this.war. Remember Vietnam, “we’re in it so let’s win it”. Maga monkeys will be obsessed with the idea of “winning”

Note the muted response from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. They are as much behind this attack as Israel. Also note Russia’s muted response. Russia desperately needs higher oil prices, and standing by while Israel and America shoot some missiles at Iran is a small price to pay.

Someone is going to do something really stupid but that just ratchets up the stupid bar. Both Trump and Iran have an endless supply of stupid.

... our prevention and intelligence gathering folks have been fired, defunded, scattered, moved to other jobs. We no longer share info with our (former?) allies and they do not share with us... it's a recipe for disaster, I fear.

I think it’ll be a cyber attack on the level of 9/11

That would do so much more damage that 9/11 will pale in comparison

We were raised with the inevitability of war with Russia. None of this, disturbing as it all is, really surprises me as we were told to pencil in a war with Russia at some point in our futures.

China is the only real wildcard, IMHO. Everyone else is pretty much on brand, and surprisingly little has substantively changed in 40 years.

some agreement somewhere we don't know about to make Donny feel better about the fact that no one came to his birthday party. I don't think Russia will do anything, just as they didn't with Israel's earlier bombings in Iran.

But yes, China is the wild card. However, I suspect they know we have allowed them to pass us and become the lead country in the world. I hope they sit tight and let us burn ourselves out on this.

I say that, but keep in mind that two days ago I said, "He said two weeks. That means he won't do anything."
