You bomb my house and declare that you want peace. I have got to be missing an important piece of this puzzle. ANYBODY buying this crap? Could any country bomb America and declare, my bad, can we just be friends? WTF? Somebody somewhere is getting high. Real high! Otherwise, the rest of us have to be.

Israel-Iran War: The Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global oil supply, yet Iran's threats to close it face significant constraints. The Strait has been at the heart of regional tensions for decades, and recently, attacks have occurred near it and targeted alternative routes.
Israel-Iran War: The United States of America's strike on three key nuclear facilities in Iran on Saturday night has put the spotlight back on the Strait of Hormuz the strategically significant shipping pathway that carries about a fifth of the worlds oil.

For those right-wing lurkers reading this post, use a search engine to look up Red Sea and then look at a map.

(36,288 posts)I was about to look that up. A FIFTH of the oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, eh?

(4 posts)Classic ego construction of an "enemy". We shouldn't fall into the trap that Trump has found himself; that there is an external enemy. It lurks within ourselves always.

(3,345 posts)The full quote was, "We are not at war with Iran. We are at war with Iran's nuclear program."
And that, friends, is what we call a distinction without a difference. No one with two brain cells to rub together is buying what he's selling, least of all the Iranians.
No formal declaration of war has been made, true enough, but for all practical purposes Iran is now at war with Israel and the US.
If that bloated sack of guts had honored the agreement Obama made, none of this would be happening. This was a foregone conclusion the moment he scrapped that agreement, and now the Iranians have every reason to believe the US will renege on any future agreement, as does every other nation.
