It was just another Tuesday morning at Omahas Glenn Valley Foods plant, as scores of workers churned out a processed beef product that restaurants and consumers grill up to make tasty cheesesteak sandwiches.
Near the front of the plant, the managers regular 9 a.m. operations meeting was suddenly interrupted by a sharp rap on the front door.
Peering through the glass entryway, managers could see the vanguard of a phalanx of armed federal officers. They were dressed in tactical gear and face coverings and carrying a battering ram, prepared, if necessary, to forcibly breach the door.
As a one manager went to open it, word quickly spread through the plant.
