"US basketball training for Senegal cancelled after visas rejected"

This is the headline from a BBC article from 2 days ago. The article notes that one of the criteria for screening and possible rejection of visas has now included "anti-American" activity." Obviously this is a very broad category and literally allows almost any criticism of US conduct to fall under that umbrella. We can expect this sort of thing to grow because that is what authoritarians do. They expand their restrictions and punishments further and further because as their policies fail and meet resistance their response is always to believe they just weren't cruel enough or extensive enough. Their response is never to question the base reasoning or application of their policies because one of the tenets of authoritarianism is that their fundamental reasoning is always right and is not open to question.

The folly of such stupidity by authoritarians also affects other aspects as well. In a "shoot yourself in the foot" manner the administration of Crumb The 1st that has made critical minerals acquisition an alarm bell they ring when talking about China has now possibly set back negotiations with West African nations because of the travel restrictions etc. As the article notes:

"Meanwhile, Nigeria's Foreign Minister Yussuf Tuggar said the expanded travel bans could impede possible energy and rare earth mineral deals which West African countries can offer the US."

Also, from the broader view of feeding raw meat to the ignorant and racist MAGA/GQP base, Crumb The 1st and Miller find great political benefit to themselves by being able to punish and inflict hardship on black people anyway they can. It's the brand.

Crumb The 1st and his fascist officials say this is all necessary because:

"national security concerns and the high rate of visa overstays from some countries must be addressed."


So OK if that is really the case then why do we see little to no effort regarding enforcement against Russians for example? What is it about these female basketball players from Senegal is so terrifying to our "national security"? What could it possibly be that is so upsetting to Crumb The 1st and his "officials and advisers"? Maybe a picture speaks a thousand words.

What amazes me is that somehow trump keeps doing new, utterly awful things. I guess having Miller close is helping him be the worst trump possible.
