There will be more votes and more announcements. Unfortunately my new Dem Rep has been voting with MAGA. lately and I don''t expect her to come out against the bombing. At best she'll pretend nothing happened.

The Presidents disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers, she (AOC) wrote in a post online. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations.
Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) added: This is not about the merits of Irans nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), an Iraq War veteran, called the bombing illegal and unjustified and said it put U.S. troops at risk of retaliation by Iran.
Only one Democrat ― Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania ― openly praised Trumps military strikes against Iran, calling it the correct decision.

(60,351 posts)I remember after the war became very unpopular in 2005, that the media went after the most prominent Democrats who voted for it blaming THEM more than they blamed GWB. Any argument that GWB did not honor any commitments made to them or even conditions in the resolution were mocked as the resolution had no teeth and they should have known the administration was lying.
Here, the bombing already happened and we certainly don't know all the consequences. Before they can write and pass anything, everything could either be over (no serious Iran retaliation which is unlikely) or we could be retaliating to our troops being targeted or shipping stopped.
Even under the war powers act, if Trump declared that the US acted to prevent an existential crisis, attacking and getting authorization from Congress after the fact ( I think within 60 days) is consistent. I would not be surprised if "intelligence, possibly Israeli" is the new "yellow cake" as to why we had to attack.
