Republican lawmaker with ectopic pregnancy nearly died amid new Florida abortion laws - but blames the left

Florida Republican Rep. Kat Cammack has revealed that she almost died last year as a result of her state’s six-week abortion ban, which left hospital staff reluctant to treat her ectopic pregnancy for fear of criminal prosecution.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Cammack, 37, reported her experiences in an unnamed Florida hospital’s emergency room on May 31 2024 when it was discovered that there was no way for her baby’s embryo to survive and that her own life was in danger without action.

A doctor discovered the embryo implanted where the fallopian tube meets the uterus, a cornual ectopic pregnancy, and frankly told the representative: “If this ruptures, it’ll kill you.”

But after deciding against surgery, the facility’s doctors and nurses had to be persuaded to give her the shot of methotrexate she required to expel the pregnancy.

if she encountered medical issues. Frankly, was skeptical that she really was pregnant. She seemed to be making such a big deal of it that it bordered on being an attention-getting device. She's always said she opposes abortion because her mother elected not to abort her. That's a common theme among the anti-abortion folks.

She strikes me as a drama queen. It's sad, if true, that she went through a problem. But she's never going to be one to change her mind. Appears to be another of those Mike Johnson-style Christians.

Law for thee, but not for me!

Ignorant bitch.

A friend of mine had an ectopic pregnancy. By the time the doctors realized what was going on and got her into surgery, it was in the process of erupting. It was a close call, and she was told she may never get pregnant again, but she ended up having a healthy baby girl a couple of years later (from the other fallopian tube, apparently!).

Any woman in this country is at risk of just dying because the fake religious nuts are in charge of laws they have no right to make to begin with. This is a secular nation, not a religious one. Even the Founding Fathers said so.

If I had some issue and needed a hysterectomy, would I be able to get it? I'm long past childbearing age, but these days, I'd be worried. If I was younger, I wouldn't get pregnant for any reason.
