During Hegseths emotionally charged news conference, he said the U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear sites was the "most complex and secretive military operation in history." Many social media users immediately mocked him, noting that the 1944 D-Day invasion of Normandy was much more intense and complicated.
"Move over D Day!, journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on social media platform X.
Trump critic Ron Filipkowski wrote: Unhinged Hegseth opens up his press conference attacking the media and ranting that President Trump directed the most complex and secretive military operation in history. Not D-Day. The Iran bombing.
Many social media users also questioned whether Hegseth was emotionally stable enough to handle his job as Defense Secretary, with some noting that he snapped at Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin. Hegseth was a host at Fox News before Trump tapped him to lead the Pentagon.
U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) questioned whether Hegseth was crying during the news conference.
"Did Secretary of Defense Hegseth start crying today during his press conference? My God. Is he emotionally stable enough to lead our military?" he wrote on X.

(23,869 posts)Trump broadcast what he was planning. It's the reason Iran moved all their material and personnel out of the targeted sites. Everyone knew the attacks were coming.
For example, airplane trackers could see the tanker planes being moved into position. The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier was directed to the region and was tracked on AIS, a satellite/ground-based navigation and tracking system. Trump said, that maybe he'd bomb Iran or maybe he wouldn't. In fact, he said, "Nobody knows what I'm going to do." Oh, Trump you fool, of course we knew what was coming.
Additionally, Hegseth needs a history lesson. D-Day was a far more complex, larger and more secretive operation than this ridiculous exercise in stupidity.
I believe Iran preserved their materials and will build a bomb. I also believe they will take retaliatory actions against Trump and the U.S.
Thanks, Trump, you idiot.

Petey boy needs to crack open a few US Military History books. That's if he is capable of reading something other than what is on a liquor or wine bottle.

He belongs back at his weekend anchor job at FOX...if they'll take him back is doubtful though as he's totally bungled the DOD Sec'y job.
