"Iran vetting body okays bill suspending cooperation with IAEA"

This is the headline from an article from the news site AlArabiya dated 06/26/25. As the headline indicates the council has signed off on this bill and it now heads to the Iranian President for approval. The article notes:

"The Iranian body tasked with vetting legislation approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog on Thursday, citing recent US and Israeli strikes.

Iranian lawmakers voted in favor of the bill on Wednesday, a day after a ceasefire ended a 12-day war with Israel that saw Israeli and US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities."

So before the attacks and threats and during the agreement put in place during the Obama years the maximum enrichment was 5%. But Crumb The 1st and the rabid right wing in Israel hated the agreement and so the US withdrew. So then enrichment has now gone to 60%, which is well below the 90% needed for weapons, and prior to the sabre rattling by Israel and Crumb the 1st we knew the physical location of that enriched nuclear material. So for his efforts to halt his court cases Netanyahu bombed away. Not to lose out on the political show Crumb The 1st also got in on the show by conducting "negotiations" in very obvious bad faith that fooled nobody and then doing some bombing of his own.

But it certainly appears that the Iranians moved the "cheese" to an unknown location which seems to be confirmed by the satellite photos of trucks prior to the bombing and the IAEA saying that no detectable radiation was released by the bombing. The Iranian cooperation with the IAEA was not without problems but at least they were involved with each other. So now comes the move to terminate any involvement with IAEA.

So after all of these supposedly "genius" moves we have ended up moving from a starting point of having a 5% program and IAEA involvement and knowing where the material is to then having the enrichment move to 60% and knowing where the material is still with some IAEA involvement. Then we come to now where we now have no idea where the 60% material is and IAEA involvement will be gone. But supposedly these moves by the US and Israel for the last many years have made the situation better? Really???

The article notes that the stance of Iran would now be to feel a right under international law to now move ahead with their enrichment rights. Where? We don't know. We used to but not anymore.

"The bill, which will now be submitted to President Masoud Pezeshkian for final ratification, would allow Iran “to benefit from all the entitlements specified under... the Non-Proliferation Treaty especially with regard to uranium enrichment,” Nazif said."

The actions of the 2 "geniuses" also have provided Iran with a legal justification to refuse IAEA involvement:

"Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a post on X that cooperation with the watchdog was “not possible” at this time until security at Iran’s nuclear facilities “is ensured.”

So much winning.
