"Washington — The Senate is expected to vote Friday on whether to block President Trump from using further military force against Iran, as Democratic anger festers over the lack of details from the administration about the recent strikes on the country's nuclear facilities.

"Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia introduced the war powers resolution days before the U.S. bombed three locations central to Iran's nuclear program, seeking to force the president to get congressional authorization before entering the conflict between Israel and Iran.

"Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, a Wyoming Republican, told reporters Thursday a vote is planned for Friday. The measure needs 51 votes to pass, a heavy lift given Republicans' 53-47 Senate majority."

In 2020 she came to Little Rock so I made the over hour long drive to see her. Outdoor venue, great crowd. The crowd was VERY young. She is an excellent speaker. It was right as COVID started to get bad so she did not do her trade mark selfies.

Just wanted to share that.

The Senate is scheduled to vote tonight on whether to block President trump from taking further military action against Iran.

Three Republican senators who previously supported the resolution now seem hesitant to force a vote, as long as the unofficial (fictional) ceasefire remains in place.

Kaine acknowledged that his resolution might not pass but emphasized that he wants his colleagues to publicly state their positions on U.S. involvement in another war. And I happen to think getting people on the record hold zero disadvantageous consequences to any senator of good will and character.
