Paraphrased:

I only vote the way they tell me. We look at the votes and I can sometimes vote the way my constituents actually want if my vote won't make a difference, but it makes me look like I'm following the voter's desires.

What he actually stated - not far from the paraphrase above! Yeah, he managed to say the quiet part out loud.

"Sometimes the leadership comes to me and says, “Dave, we want you to vote a certain way.’ Now, they know I can do that over here, that I have to do that over here. In other districts, that’s not a problem, but here I have to be able to be very flexible in where I place my votes. Because the big picture here is, keep this seat, keep the majority, keep the country moving forward with Republican ideals…. Not the vote I place on ANWAR that you may not agree with, or the vote that I place on protecting salmon.”

No doubt that they count and decide in advance who's going to do what as is best for them. These phonies stay up on their high horses and couldn't care less about anyone else.

Their constituents are just an excuse. An afterthought.

It appears they can't count the number of constituents who'll lose health care, or interest costs of trillions of Billionaire Bonus debt, or the hospitals that will close in their states.

Romney was the same way, as was McCain before him. Make a big show of standing strong, but then vote exactly as instructed to benefit the party over the nation.

They're allowed to vote "NO" when their vote doesn't matter one way or the other, and they thereby puff up the illusion that they're anything other than wholly owned subsidiaries of the party of fascists.

The 10 least populated states are: Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire. Their Senators and Governors can shake everybody’s hand, drop in to coffee shops and barber shops, and in general get known on the basis of their winning personalities and “concern” for their constituents. If they work it right, they can hold that seat for life.

California, by contrast, has almost 40,000,000 — as much as the country of Canada. No presidential candidate is ever going to drop into my coffee shop. They aren’t Huell Howser, glad-handing his way from one end of the state to the other for PBS. I get that, which is why I have lost patience with “Democrats” who whine that Hillary never visited them and that’s why she lost.

She pulls this stunt all the time. If the GOP had needed her vote, she would have overridden her “concerns” and voted how they told her to vote.

But what makes me the most angriest is the press eats up her act all the time. It’s getting old.
