Let me get this straight, re: censorship vs free speech.

When it was in the interest of public health to stem disinformation about Covid 19, its means of infection, and vaccination, the rightwing had a big fight over that on the basis of the First Amendment. Their right to lie superseded any obligation to protect vulnerable people during a global pandemic.

When lies, accusations, and conspiracies about the 2020 election riled Trumpers up to the point of fury, the idea of correcting misinformation with the truth on the internet was controversial for the same reason. "No censorship!" The conspirators had the "freedom" to accuse volunteers, elected officials,

And sudden rightwing martyr Charlie Kirk was about nothing if not free speech, supposedly. Yet ironically, he's used as a reason to stifle free speech!

True, censorship has always been essential to dear leader when it comes to inconvenient facts, or journalists who ask real questions. But now it's come down to Kennedy Center, the New York Times, esteemed universities, and late-night comedians with talk shows.

And they still can't recognize the fascism.
