Lawyer explains how your "smart" elect meter can be used by ICE & police against you

Jfc, how do they come up with this shit?

He talks about immigration agencies getting info from power companies to try to discern whether more people are living in a home than expected.

Electric usage is obtained from power companies to attempt to discern whether someone is growing weed...

Police & ICE access the meter data with subpoenas vs warrants.

Then, he states, they storm the house with armed goons, often for no reason!

Wtaf???

Remember, they're only trying to protect us from ourselves. Don't smoke a joint. Instead, saturate your food in Round Up & gorge on that.

Ps - some states allow consumers to completely or partially opt out of data collection from smart meters.

I have nothing at all to hide but would use all opt outs avail me me, however, sadly, I'm stuck in the red shithole TN which has no opt out.

where officers would go after people who ordered materials to grow plants indoors. This seems similar. Although they may find some libertarian bitcoin miners who are using lots of electricity.

In their infinite wisdom, leo's decided the man (Arkansas) had murdered someone & used the water to clean up the mess.

They busted the guy but were unable to actually prove he did anything other than use 140 gal of water between 1 & 3 am.

Meanwhile, the man's life was upended!

even if they admit, or are proven to be wrong, the person still can lose everything trying to defend themselves.

I paid extra to have the utility replace the "smart" meter with a traditional one.

Not only are "smart" meters spying on us, the're also irradiating us.

... It raises my blood pressure so I turn it off most of the time (yes, there are peer-reviewed studies on wifi sensitivity). Then I heard that smart meters could be even more dangerous, so I pay over $13 a month to opt out ($40 the first payment). Our utility (now based in Spain!) for upstate New York has raised prices a whole lot. I find if I send in the meter readings myself, I don't have to deal with the every-other-month ridiculously high estimate that you have to pay no matter what. And my bills have actually dropped to not much more than they were originally (no more than $130 monthly) in my rural loft house near Ithaca, NY.

It's beyond me how they even think of such devious things!

They sure are terrified of weed & people with more pigment in their skin.

by threatening to charge us an extra $12 a month for not having a smart meter:

snip

If you are a residential electric customer and you do not have a smart meter installed, and you do not make an installation appointment, you will be charged a $12 monthly.

snip

an extra $144 a year for opting out.
