Not forgiving her at all. But she did accomplish in her life what many women at the time couldn't do. such as enroll and graduate from law school when maybe 98% of students were male, and speaking for herself. Even in 1978, many married women didn't even use their own names. They were "Mrs. (husband's first and last name)". I know as I witnessed my mother with a masters degree struggle for her own autonomy.

I'm also no fan of Clare Boothe Luce. But I recognize her accomplishments. Like Schlafly, she was no feminist and didn't try to help other women (and you'd think she had some insight after writing The Women).

If a religion can't stand on its own, based on ethics and morality and the "red letter words" then it has nothing but shifting sand on which to build... and people can't count on it for help or comfort... only more violence. I detest the day we gave up polytheism and animism for monotheism. Monotheism... the religion of ancient warlords fitting itself into the modern world. Today, our gods are musk and trump and AI. How far the human race has fallen!

Mata is a programming language that looks a lot like Java and C, but adds direct support for matrix programming. Mata is a compiled language, which makes it fast. You can use Mata interactively when you want to quickly perform matrix calculations, or you can use Mata when you need to write complex programs. Mata has the structures, pointers, and classes that you expect in your programming language. In fact, Mata is Stata's development language. Most new features of Stata are written in Mata. This includes multilevel modeling, latent class analysis, Bayesian estimation, and even the core algorithms of the graphical SEM Builder. But Mata is not just for Stata developers; you too can take advantage of this powerful programming language.

A powerful, flexible matrix programming language for interactive and exploratory data analysis

That is actually what a search for "matrix programming" returns, because, thank goodness, the nerds still outnumber the lunatics.

Just because some idiot is ready, willing and able to give up HER rights does not mean any of the rest of us are willing. Most of us fought too hard to have the few, remaining rights we have.

Being a feminist merely means that you believe women are equals to men. Deserving of equal respect and equal responsibility. This person doesn't have to burn her bra, or have a career, or be on top during sex if she chooses not to.

But she DOES need to allow other women their own choices and stop mocking anyone who might disagree with her. If she wants to be the submissive little idiot, that's her choice and she's entitled to that choice. But she can live with the responsibility of that choice, too.

And when she's popped out ten kids and hubby decides he wants a younger model and leaves her to support those kids without much education, work experience, etc., then she needs to deal with that.

I don't think anyone wants to argue with me that it doesn't happen that way either, because I've seen it happen too many times.

You are completely accurate in that "they" don't think it's the same when it's about them....whatever "it" is in the discussion.

I literally had a discussion once with a former coworker who was ranting about how he and his second (and much younger!) wife were completely against abortion. I reminded him that I was aware that the daughter of the much younger second wife had (indeed) just HAD an abortion. I knew this because the much younger second wife had recently confided that to me because she knew I was prochoice.

His response? (You guessed it!!!) "Oh, that was different."

I responded that I didn't think it was different than anyone else, and walked away from him, having lost ALL respect that I might ever have had for the man.

They are so arrogant that they just don't get it.

Whereas the Trump administration is moving now to criminalise progressive values and organisations, to assert that the US is a Christian nation and not a pluralistic society as the 1st Amendment clearly intended, remove access to vaccinations from people who chose to take them, criminalise abortion, make it harder for women who chose to work, silence voices in the media that promote anything other than fascist values and strip museums, libraries and schools of any opinions besides the ones they sanction.

So yeah, it's a disingenuous as well as a stupid argument because she knows perfectly well that when her guys are in power they couldn't give less of a shit about making room for anyone's opinions besides their own - and they exercise state power to shut down opposing views.

Sadly that usually means Old Testament Bible, which is not a Christian book.
Jesus' teachings are New Testament only, and so most right wing Christians don't follow the teachings of Jesus.
If Jesus was alive today, he'd be labeled a liberal, and be condemned for his teachings, just like he was over 2000 years ago.
