Trump took another unscheduled golf trip on Saturday, October 4, 2025, as the federal government remains shut down. Press pool reports from Ana Ceballos of the Los Angeles Times show that reporters were positioned in vans at the bottom of the South Lawn, unable to see Trump actually board the motorcade to Trump National Golf Club.

The motorcade departed at 9:57 a.m. despite no being disclosed on the public agenda. The setup highlights the White House’s careful management of optics, shielding the president’s private leisure from direct observation.

Trump’s motorcade arrived at the club. However, Ceballos noted that Trump wasn’t seen exiting his vehicle, again showing how the press may be strategically prevented from photographing Trump golfing.
