I predict that your prediction will be correct. He doesn't care about people suffering.

(105,091 posts)4. He could also send the massive naval Caribbean presence to help
The U.S. naval presence in the region includes the Iwo Jima Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG)/22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), with more than 4,500 sailors and Marines on three ships: The Wasp class amphibious assault ship, the USS Iwo Jima, and the San Antonio class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio. Also deployed in the region are three Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers; USS Jason Dunham, USS Stockdale and USS Gravely, the Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser USS Lake Erie and the Freedom class littoral combat ship USS Wichita.

As we reported last week, in addition to its assets already in the region, the U.S. Navys supercarrier USS Gerald R. Ford and at least a portion of the rest of its strike group have been ordered to Latin American waters. Strikes on alleged drug-smuggling boats have now become routine, and the possibility that the campaign could extend to targets on land, particularly in Venezuela, continues to grow.

Helicopters for transport where roads are blocked, additional medical help if needed (or transport to other Caribbean islands), engineering help in constructing emergency shelters, or fixing infrastructure - the military is good at the important things needed now. I doubt Trump will do it for a largely Black country, though.

I assume he won't lift a fucking finger this time. He clearly doesn't care about America or Americans.

The US-Jamaica relationship, like most in the region, would be hard to describe as really "good," under Trump, as (coincidentally, of course) all the countries with large black populations. Not to say, Trump et al. are racist POS, mind you... (but they ARE).
Donate to help a hurricane-ravaged nation? Hell, he's not even willing to help blue state Americans--even those living in counties that went for HIM.
