CDC's Controversial Vaccine Page Change Stuns Experts

The CDC’s vaccine-safety webpage was altered to reflect HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s view that vaccines may be linked to autism. The page claimed that ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is ‘not an evidence-based claim’ and asserted studies showing a link were ignored.

The change added an HHS review of autism causes, but it did not cite any new research. Scientists, former CDC officials, and autism advocates condemned it as ideologically driven and lacking standard scientific review.

Public-health experts reiterated that decades of research show no link between vaccines and autism and warned the edits undermine trust in CDC guidance.

“One of CDC’s former top officials, Debra Houry, said, “I spoke with several scientists at CDC yesterday and none were aware of this change in content.”
