Republicans are being told that screwing Americans on food costs & healthcare isn't a winning re-election strategy
I think we know there are people who will vote a straight red ticket next November, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS between now and then.
We're at the point where TRUMP is saying we may have to extend the ACA credits until an alternative is found.
And REPUBLICANS are going "FUCK that, we don't want to extend them for ANY length of time."
Makes it pretty damned impossible to "blame" the impending healthcare crisis on DEMOCRATS.
Mitch McConnell buried a poison pill in the "reopen the government" bill which effectively kills the entire hemp industry, knowing that if it didn't come up for discussion as a separate bill, he could squeak it through. Mission accomplished.
Which means he kills off a $35 billion industry, to the delight of his Kentucky Bourbon lobbyists, and millions of Americans across the country who are in states where marijuana is illegal and have come to depend on Delta 8, Delta 9, and CBD products legalized in the Farm Bill for treatment of pain, anxiety, and more, will be fucked a year from now unless the hemp industry's own lobbyists can't defeat the legislation.
Then there's the SNAP debacle, and the spectacle of Americans suffering while Trump throws "Great Gatsby" parties at Mar-a-Lago.
And, I go back to the first sentence I wrote here. I'll applaud a blue tsunami when we have one, not a year ahead of the midterms, because we are dealing with two issues.
1). The "straight red ticket no matter what" crowd, and
2). We literally have NO WAY TO PREDICT how many of the 90,000,000 who sat out the Nov 2024 election will DO THE SAME NEXT YEAR.
Those are the wild cards.
But LITTLE BY LITTLE, DRIP BY DRIP, MAYBE people are starting to realize that Trump, and the Republicans, are CAUSING the pain they are feeling, and the pain FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE don't even realize is COMING THEIR WAY.
