2fer, RUBIO has his inner-BATISTA zoom in service to Dear Leader. re: his State Dept purview

So back in the day RUBIO-Batista seemed mousey enough, unable to read off a canned speech without guzzling on a bottle of water. In the 2016 primaries he tried to be punchy without success with KRASNOV, yet in the ensuing years he's decided that his way to pretend toughness is to crouch under KRASNOV's umbrella, a mascot protected to attack any vulernables out there.

So among other things in his persecutions, he strips recourse to legal rights to "deported Venezuelans" - no floor on punishing anybody?

And in the other item, while not directly coming from him but in the realm of foreign relations, the ambassador from Australia is being terminated as such (yes, by his country) for the crime of having critized KRASNOV. Yes, KRASNOV made the threat/demand but a Secretary of State with integrity might have the personal influence to try to mitigate an autocratic demand like that, no?

Australia's US ambassador Rudd to step down early

SYDNEY, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Australia's ambassador to the United States Kevin Rudd is stepping down, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Tuesday, a year earlier than expected following criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump. Rudd, a former Australian prime minister, is returning to head the Asia Society think tank and will finish his posting in March, Albanese told a news conference. "Australia and the United States are the closest of friends and allies, and this will never change," he said. "We will continue to take forward the important work that Kevin has done, some of it is, of course, ongoing work." ....
