Twice now I've seen videos with Rachel Maddow that look to me to be faked -

The one tonight was about the attack going on in Moscow close to the Kremlin. She appears rather robotic and unexpressive.

Am I seeing an AI version of her?

5. I believe they are fakes. They show a picture of her and the voice sounds like her

They are well scripted. In the one I watched,, however, the AI voice mispronounced a word.
I don’t know who is putting them out there.

You should find info about the video and whether it's AI or not. But beware - this info is not always there. Look in the video description; sometimes it's slipped in right at the end. Or go to the channel page and look at the 'About' section.

I just watched an AI fake of George Will describing a secret meeting of GOP Senate leaders. He mispronounced John Thunes name over and over.....my first clue it was fake. Took about 3 minutes in for me to tell.

The fakes usually have an unnatural cadence, inflection and pronunciation to their speech which is pretty easy to detect if you look (listen) for it. Also look for exactly repetitive hand motions or facial expressions. There is also one particular male voice that shows up in a lot of fakes.

A casual listener probably wouldn't notice as the fakes are pretty good and getting better. I expect before long it will be difficult to impossible to tell the difference.

with much opinion stated as fact and Rachel's were among them. I could tell just by looking at her pic that it wasn't her. Also have seen George Will pop up.

...now you'll get a string of similar AI fakes on your timeline.

Don't click on political stuff from sources you don't recognize and trust.
