Congressional Democrats need to be UNANIMOUS in VOTING AGAINST ANY FUTURE FUNDING FOR ICE.

Raw Story has an excerpt from Mary Trump's latest Substack article:

“He Was a Good Man”
The federal government murders another American citizen

So I'm reading it, and I'm thinking "Yes, as always, Mary makes complete sense, but when do we get to the part where she not only says her uncle is a danger to America and civilization as a whole, but she actually suggests what to do about it?

And I guessed correctly...you have to go to the Substack article itself, because it's not in the Raw Story excerpt. These are the concluding paragraphs...you'll note that at no point does she look to REPUBLICANS for ANY HELP at all. And, of course it's not "fair" to suggest that Democrats have to be the adults in the room, the ones with a conscience, the ones with moral fiber who are not suckling greedily at Trump's hind teats. But it's where we're at, so until someone has a better solution, this sounds reasonable to me.

Like Mr. Pretti’s parents, we should be heartbroken and angry. We are on a precipice of much worse in this country if we don’t find a way out of the trap the Trump regime is laying for us. The worse their violence against us gets, the more likely our anger is to tip over into rage. To avoid the resulting escalation, which would perhaps provide Donald with the excuse he’s been looking for to declare martial law, Democratic governors have to bring the full weight of their state governments to bear on lawless federal agencies and their agents. Blue state governors may be the last, best line of defense in this fight.

But Congressional Democrats have a role to play, too. ICE is a fascist agency that is receiving its marching orders—and its impunity—from leaders like Donald, and Bovino, and Noem. In the upcoming budget discussions, they’ve got to leverage every kind of power they have to dismantle it.

In the meantime, we’ll keep showing up in any way we can. And we’ll keep telling the truth in the face of the Trump regime’s “sickening lies.” We’ll get the truth out about the Pretti’s son.

The facts can't be escaped.

It was murder times two.

All of the stories concocted by Noem and her goons, as well as Trump himself, are debunked in the face of video evidence.

Having Bondi and Patel commandeer the "investigations" was the opposite of a "show of good faith" that justice will be served.

So Fetterman, or anyone else from either party, can vote for it, then explain to their constituents why it's OK for fascist storm troopers to murder innocent American civilians in cold blood.

They can defend themselves. Any "defense" won't be coming from me.

...they JUST did that, mostly.

And Democrats aren't a monolith, so who are you appealing to?

'Democrats' should do this or that, but we won't do anything in the meantime to promote what they're actually doing, just project the future as if they're some kind of abstraction.

What are they? Some kind of singular entity, or did we individually elect them? Find out who is an obstacle and lobby THEM.

When do we get to pressuring the republicans who are the actual obstacles, RIGHT NOW?
