Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested in connection with Epstein files revelations

https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/andrew-mountbatten-windsor-arrested-uk-police-02-19-26

What's happening now
• Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, younger brother of King Charles III, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Police have not said what led them to arrest Andrew on suspicion of misconduct in public office, but he spent a decade as UK trade envoy.

• King Charles III issued a statement saying he learned “with the deepest concern” of the arrest of his younger brother and stressed that “the law must take its course.”

• Officers were pictured arriving at Mountbatten-Windsor’s home at Sandringham, King Charles’s estate in Norfolk. Police previously said the force was reviewing allegations that a woman was trafficked to the UK by Jeffrey Epstein to have a sexual encounter with Mountbatten-Windsor, and claims he shared sensitive information with him while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.

• The former prince has not publicly responded to the latest allegations to emerge after the US Department Of Justice releases on Epstein, but Mountbatten-Windsor has previously denied any wrongdoing over his ties to him.

We adore psychopaths and make them our leaders.

Time will tell if the US will ever clean house.

...if the 90,000,000 who slept through the 2024 election WAKE UP and DO WHAT'S RIGHT, we can end this.

And if they take another nap this November, it's pretty much a guarantee of chaos all the way to November 2028 and "President Donald Trump Jr."

Because Don Jr WANTS it, has said he DESERVES it and is the "rightful heir to MAGA," Trump most likely will not "endorse" Vance, Rubio's a little too brown for the MAGAts, and the ONLY WAY Trump will WILLINGLY LEAVE the White House without causing a scene is if he's succeeded by someone who will cover his ass 24/7.

There's so much at stake, and I'm not convinced, as of today, that America "gets" it.

I'm not convinced that a lot of people outside of DU would be able to keep up with a conversation on this, because they haven't been paying attention on a day-to-day basis.

They know Trump sent out a video of the Obamas as apes, and I'm sure a lot of people dismissed it as "that's just Trump being Trump."

If there is a "sea change," and America...on a bigger scale than what we're seeing today...starts speaking out about this, I'll feel more confident about November 2026 and 2028.

Today, I'm thinking "74,000,000 Harris voters" and have no idea how many more BEYOND that will put their money where their mouths are in November, because talk is STILL cheap. Nothing that ANYONE says will matter half as much as their actually showing up to VOTE.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in the US.
We now have a country run by a mob boss.

Enough people appear to like all of it to keep it going.

Americans appear to like this system.

Everything he's done is a matter of public record, including how he's spent his money in the political arena.

We know that he feels that empathy is "the woke mind virus" and that it's the worst quality in humanity, except he wept like a little girl when his Tesla dealerships were vandalized.

Worst of all, we knew WHO and WHAT Trump was, and we re-elected him.

I think you're right. Americans DO seem to like this system. And I'm fresh out of answers on that front.

Americans adore psychopaths as their leaders.
Political and financial leaders who are ruthless, brutal, deadly.

We admire and adore them.

Hence, we won’t be wasting efforts and lives on Iran. Trump now has to plot Andrew’s demise.

Well played, Brits! Perfect distraction!

He'll say it's "interesting" that Pedo Andy got nabbed, while HE, on the other hand, has been "totally exonerated."

He'll repeat the same tired garbage about how they "REALLY WANTED HIM," but lacked the evidence, so he's innocent.

No acknowledgement about Bondi and Patel obstructing justice and running interference for him.

Just a lot of crazy Grandpa ranting about how this somehow "proves his innocence."

In many democracies, criminal suspects are often held accountable — even if they’re politically powerful, even if they’ve served at the highest levels.

In rapid succession:
- former British royal arrested
- former Korean president sentenced
- former Norwegian PM charged
- former French and Brazilian presidents imprisoned

And then there’s Trump and the Republican-appointed justices on the U.S. Supreme Court.

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/former-prince-andrews-arrest-yoon-suk-yeols-sentence-and-the-power-of-accountability

But by any fair measure, the most dramatic development to date is the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, better known as the United Kingdom’s former Prince Andrew. The Thames Valley Police took the former royal into custody on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office. While the specific details of the criminal allegations are not yet known, BBC News reported that the arrest “comes after Thames Valley Police said they were assessing a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince” with the late sex offender....

Indeed, right around the time the world was learning of the former prince’s arrest, the public also learned that former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was sentenced to life imprisonment, having been convicted of overseeing a 2024 insurrection attempt that sparked a constitutional crisis in the country.

One week earlier, former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland was charged with “gross corruption” over his Epstein ties......

In stable, advanced democracies around the globe, it’s not uncommon to see governments hold criminal suspects accountable — even if they’re politically powerful, and even if they served at the highest levels.

Italy prosecuted a former prime minister. France prosecuted a former prime minister, in addition to Sarkozy. South Africa prosecuted a former president. South Korea prosecuted a former president before sending a different former president to prison. Israel has prosecuted more than one former prime minister. Germany prosecuted a former president. Portugal prosecuted a former prime minister. Croatia prosecuted a former prime minister. Argentina prosecuted a former president. Austria prosecuted a former chancellor. Pakistan prosecuted a former prime minister.......

And then there’s the United States, where Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices ruled in 2024 that Donald Trump, at the time a former president, was immune from prosecution for any possible crimes he might have committed while carrying out his duties. (Trump is also shielded from legal accountability during his tenure in the White House under existing Justice Department policy.)

In other words, we’ve reached a point at which British authorities can hold the king’s brother accountable, but American authorities are out of luck when it comes to Trump, no matter how much evidence they’ve compiled documenting the Republican’s alleged felonies.
