Domino's franchisee files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Pizza lovers will have a harder time finding their favorite slice, as an economic downturn in the fast-food pizza dining sector has resulted in major chain franchisees closing 100s of restaurant locations and filing for bankruptcy.

The nation's largest pizza dining chain, Domino's Pizza, is among the pizza giants whose franchisees have filed for bankruptcy

Major pizza chain Papa John's, which has not filed for bankruptcy, announced in its fourth-quarter earnings call that it will close 300 underperforming restaurants, including 200 by the end of 2026. The company did not reveal a deadline for closing the remaining 100.

Papa John's also said it would cut 7% of its workforce.

It made Little Ceasers taste like gourmet. Domino's tasted more like Totinos.......

I personally like Papa John's veggie pizza but I'm boycotting them.

if they need something cheap. Especially if it's to feed a large number of people .

But the local independent owned places have the best pizzas.

Nothing in the U.S., chain or "local," compares.

The promise of 30-minute Delivery
The icing on the cake or more aptly the extra cheese on your already fabulous pizza is that Domino’s takes only half an hour for its pizza delivery service. Don’t believe us? Time it if you please. With 1250+ stores present all over India, you can have a Domino’s pizza even while traveling on a train. Yes, you are reading it right, you can enjoy pizza on train too.

So stop googling for the “pizza shops near me” and order from your nearest pizza outlet to have a hot box of pizza on your table in the next 30 minutes, or berth at the next halting station.

11. They make pizza?

I thought they made bad, spongy bread with ketchup and stringy synthetic cheese-like substances spread over the top.

To be fair I haven’t tasted their product in decades.

13. When they ran their recent any-pizza-any-toppings for $10, I got one.

I got no sides, just the pizza. It was a large with pepperoni, mushroom, onion, green pepper and extra cheese. Had they not been running their promotion, it would have run $24. So I do not find this news all that surprising.

14. Such an overblown article for a Dominos franchisee with 18 restaurants in San Diego County that filed for chapter 11

So a franchisee with 18 restaurants is going through Chapter 11 to reorganize its debts. The franchisee operates .25% of the stores nationally and .08% of the total Domino's stores worldwide. There's not even an indication that the stores will be closing - most if not all will stay open during the bankruptcy proceedings or be sold off as assets to another franchisee.

So basically a nonissue.
