"60 Minutes" new season...Trump fangirl Bari Weiss prepares to stick her tongue in a light socket & hope for the best.

A cloud of dread has descended upon CBS News as controversial editor-in-chief Bari Weiss prepares to overhaul "60 Minutes" when the show returns next season — with network insiders warning changes are coming that will upend the venerable Sunday night institution.

According to the Guardian, the current season concludes on Sunday, after which the iconoclastic Weiss is expected to impose her ideological imprint on a program that has operated with editorial autonomy for decades.

The 59th season will be the first fully under Weiss' purview following Skydance Media's acquisition of CBS parent Paramount Global in August 2025. Amid persistent rumors that next season will look dramatically different, network insiders are bracing for significant disruption.

Speaking with the Guardian, one longtime network insider warned of "massive changes" after the current season ends, though the network reportedly has no plans to completely overhaul the format or abandon the show's award-winning investigative mission. However, layoffs are widely anticipated.

I'll be honest. Like everyone here, I was extremely angered by the Colbert firing, but Trump had also pretty effectively "flooded the zone" with things that I considered to be worse, like his war, his $10 billion lawsuit, the "reflecting pool," the "ballroom," his "arch," the "gold" statue...

...so I "reacted," but not the way I'm reacting NOW as the disgusting reality sinks in and the final show date approaches.

I really hope Ellison and his idiot bastard son take it in the shorts over this.

the mission is silencing anything other than big government GOP propaganda through destructive censorship. After CBS goes under, Brendan Carr will coo about how 'we've destroyed another fake news channel'.

1-2 minutes of sound bites, followed by 10 minutes of commercials. Repeat for the whole hour, then crow about how hard hitting and indepth the coverage is.
