Trump is preparing to illegally purge tens of millions of Democratic voters from voter rolls nationally, just in time for the election. Just like Modi did to win overwhelmingly in India, following the GOP’s playbook.

This follows John Roberts and Sam Alito blatantly using phony, cooked numbers to justify eviscerating the Voting Rights Act, lying to our faces and then laughing at us like they did with the Dobbs decision and Citizens United.

In this year’s iteration, the Trump Department of Justice has demanded that all states turn over their voting rolls, complete with names, addresses, driver’s license and social security numbers, voting history, and date of birth.

They’re also requiring states to sign a “Memorandum of Understanding” that says the states will then purge from their voting rolls anybody who Republican partisans within the Trump administration — once they’ve dug into the state’s voter data — find to be a “concern”:

Republicans deploy ground troops in the states to execute ‘the plan.’ Donald Trump and the Republican Party are planning on sending troops to polling places during the 2026 midterm elections, according to a recent report. Their RNC announced that it has deployed poll watchers and election observers in at least 17 states for the midterm elections.

Trump keeps saying the quiet part out loud on changes to the 2026 election. As he’s pushed a number of executive and legislative actions in recent months, from nixing the Senate filibuster, to requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship, to eliminating mail ballots - he’s repeatedly admitted that these not so subtle actions are designed to help Republicans win the 2026 midterm elections.

Trump calls Democrats ‘human garbage’ for fighting against his election schemes. He threw a tantrum after, Sen. Chuck Schumer announced that former Attorney General Eric Holder would be joining a Democratic task force that will identify "threats" to the upcoming midterm elections.

Justice Sam Alito used deceptive DOJ data to gut voting rights. The Supreme Court's decision that gutted voting rights under section 2 of the Voting Rights Act deliberately and knowingly rested on false claims about Black voter turnout, according to a new analysis.

Alabama begged Clarence Thomas to block court-ordered Black district maps. Alabama officials directed their emergency motion asking to lift a federal court order that prohibited the state from redistricting until the next scheduled Census specifically to Clarence Thomas, a far-right jurist who oversees such requests.

Overnight power grab saw Louisiana GOP voted at 4 AM to erase Democratic seat. In a predawn vote Louisiana's Republican-controlled Senate committee approved a new congressional map that eliminated the state's second Democratic-majority district, setting the stage for GOP control of five of six seats.

Virginia’s Supreme Court ruling poses a serious threat to democracy: experts. The decision marked a significant and terrifying moment in our democracy as the court allowed an election to be cancelled after its completion.

This is not democracy: voting rights activists shocked by speed of US states moving to stifle Black voters. Donald Trump’s demand to tear up political norms has been met by Republican states eager to dust off a segregation-era playbook that maximizes the political power of white voters.

Disgraceful: All Tennessee Democrats were stripped of committee posts. Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton had stripped all members of the House Democratic Caucus of their committee assignments following protests for the state’s new Republican-backed congressional maps.

Tennessee Republicans set to remove requirement to notify voters of changes to polling places. While they removed the only Black voting district in the state they pushed to remove the requirement that voters be notified when their assigned polling places change, a move which will likely cause confusion and prevent eligible voters from casting their ballots.
