when the Right tried to condemn him for not spending money on the military, and Clinton came back and pointed out the financial support the government had spent on...wait for it...drone technology.

Now, drone technology was not a new concept in the late nineties, but the commitment to improving them for military purposes must have struck a chord, because the Right went quiet. Now, I never knew if it was because they didn't understand how drones would play a role in our future, or because they did recognized its importance.

I, personally, had no idea how important they would be until the Ukraine - Russia war.

Those weren't bad times unless you watched TV news, read the paper or especially listened to AM radio. The elites investment paid off in spades.
