New Gallup Poll: 16% of Americans rate the economy as "excellent" or "good." BUT DID YOU EVEN BOTHER TO THANK TRUMP?

A new Gallup poll showing economic confidence at its lowest point in nearly four years is sending alarm bells through Republican ranks ahead of the midterms, according to MS NOW's Ali Vitali — and the numbers are bad enough that even the party's most loyal voters are starting to ask questions.

Just 16 percent of Americans now rate the economy as excellent or good, according to the poll. Forty-nine percent say it is poor. And 76 percent say economic conditions are getting worse — the highest reading since 2023. Only 20 percent say conditions are improving.

"Very scary numbers for Republicans," said Morning Joe host Jonathan Lemire, who noted that midterm elections are historically decided on economic issues.

Vitali agreed, but said the public optimism coming from Republican leadership masks a very different private conversation. "We are never going to hear the speaker say, gosh, yeah, things really do look bad for us," she said. "Once he starts doing that, the whole ball game is over." But she added that private Republican sentiment tells a different story entirely — one of genuine concern and handwringing.

The most insidious part of this is the cult believing Trump and his goons when they say "This is NECESSARY if you DON'T WANT Iran to nuke you."

Sure. I believe the TARIFFS were not a means to punish ALL OF AMERICA for electing Biden in 2020. I really believe that. Really I do.

This Administration is sure the hell not capable (or willing) to fix things.

The rich are eating all the value in this country. The poor are getting poorer. Opportunities are drying up. The people in charge of our government are there to serve only the rich.

There is a long-term trend transferring wealth from the people who produce goods and services to the people who invest in selling goods and services. That trend is accelerating. Within a year or two, we will have trillionaires. Next will be multi-trillionaires. There is not enough money on earth to satisfy the greed of the richest.

"They" have a lock on this country. Resistance is tepid. Proposed reforms just chew at the edge of the problem.

As a nation of the people, by the people, for the people, we have fallen and we can't get up.
