A man who kisses Trump's ass for a living just called millions of people's jobs 'fake.'

Union organizers would like a word.

Vice President JD Vance used a conversation about the “dignity of work” to argue that “a lot of the white-collar jobs that exist in our country are kind of ********.”

During a podcast episode of “The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe” promoting his new book last week, Vance repeatedly contrasted blue-collar and white-collar work while discussing the Trump administration’s push to revive trade jobs and manufacturing.

Dignified work — whether blue collar or white collar — is work that blesses someone and where somebody else benefits, said Rowe, the former host of Discovery’s hit series “Dirty Jobs.” By that standard, many Americans’ jobs don’t measure up.

-snip-

“JD Vance is only in the position he’s in because he’s a billionaire bootlicker, so it’s ironic that he would mock Americans who’ve had to work hard to earn their positions and achieve success and couldn’t rely on rich people to get them ahead,” said David Green, president and executive director of SEIU 721, a union representing government and healthcare employees throughout Southern California.

This should come as no surprise to anyone. This rhetoric goes all the way back to the 60's

Environmental laws utilized reporting as a tool for monitoring risks. The Corps saw it as being forced to snitch on themselves

America's first VP, John Adams, called it the "most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived." Garner, FDR's VP, said the office wasn't worth a "pitcher of warm spit." And Wilson's VP, Marshall, told the joke about two brothers: "One ran away to sea; the other was elected vice president of the United States. And nothing was heard of either of them again."

and they'll do whatever ball-gargling is necessary. They are pathetic. Vance has the advantage of being the VP already so he can step right in when Satan calls the boss home, but nobody likes him. Rubio is also a dick but he's smarter and sneakier and is currently running Trump's grift in Venezuela.

Vance only thinks people without a high profile college degree lie engineers and doctors have fake jobs? So a person with a degree in business management has a fake job?

How about someone with a Social Worker's degree have a fake job?

What our idiot vice-president doesn't understand is there are very few jobs in this country that aren't fake. Unless it's a family business that hires their relatives just to give them a job businesses aren't going to carry someone on their payroll in a fake job. What I've learned and figured out is almost every job someone performs in is for a purpose. It's to meet the needs of the business or to provide goods and/or services to others.

If Vance has no respect for those with college degrees then think of the disrespect he has for people without a college degree. People like construction workers, plumbers, truck drivers, store workers, police, enlisted military personnel (why does Vance hate our military?), airline pilots, etc...

What Vance need to understand is an engineer or a doctor provides as service just the same as a plumber or electrician provides a service. Without people working in a diverse number of jobs, many of which Vance thinks are fake, our country wouldn't work.

J.D., please have a rectalencephalectomy (surgical removal of one's head from their ass) as soon as possible.

The Vice President has no Constitutional functions other than to break the occasional tie in the Senate and to step in if the president dies or is incapacitated. While I'm sure he's hovering around like a vulture hoping Trump dies, he really hasn't anything to do other than what Trump tells him to do. He could easily get away with not showing up for "work" at all most days.

That office work isn't "real work."

It's rampant on social media, that AI is replacing fake office jobs and college is now useless so everyone should learn a trade. And they're gaining traction, there are a lot of blue collar people not sending their kids to college now, I know some of them.

20. Colleges priced themselves out of the market.
Tue Jul 14, 2026, 05:11 PM

People started questioning the value of college degrees back as far as the 1990's, when the price of four year college really began to skyrocket.
What's it cost now to go to a public college? Something like 95k -150k for four years? And forget something like Stanford, Harvard or Rice, where it's getting close to 350k- 400k without financial aid for four years (with financial aid it could be as low as 93k- 150k). Even worse if you are out state- tuition really starts to skyrocket!
So those on the right who are now questioning the value of a college education are little slow to get the message.

But I know several college grads who, even with their degree, ended up as managers at fast food or retail venues, simply because the fields they got their degree in began to shrink to the point there were more people looking for jobs in that field than there were jobs. A few went back to college, got a degree in another field, got a job in that field for awhile, then lost it, because that field also began to shrink.

spend generations on factory lines.

Another saying college isn't where we need to send most young Americans.

Now, the VP declares too many White-Collar jobs are "fake."

Far be it from me, a die-hard Union Democrat, to denigrate the trades (I once was a Guidance Counselor serving a Vocational-Technical High School), but I know a Republican effort to steer the Middle Class away from the Ivy League when I smell one.

Not because Republicans are looking out for the future employment opportunities for the Middle Class (the poor don't even register), but because they want to rule the economic roost all by themselves.
