John Cornyn Drops Hints Graham's Death Is Not Natural

Republican Senator John Cornyn has added to the growing MAGA conspiracy theories around the sudden death of Lindsey Graham.

The South Carolina Republican died on Saturday, at 71, from an aortic dissection linked to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. A final autopsy is still pending.

Emergency personnel responded to a report of cardiac arrest at his Washington, D.C., home Saturday evening, just hours after Graham returned from a trip to Ukraine and experienced chest pains.

Cornyn told reporters on Monday he wants to see Graham's toxicology report released "to rule out any foul play" and silence online theories that have surfaced since his death.

He died like his dad did.

He isn't significant enough to warrant assassination via something subtle like poisoning. His exit from the world stage (and the world) means nothing for foreign policy. Just one fewer hypocrite.

But I agree with you that the risk of pissing off other senators would not be worth the poison.

Graham had a family history of heart disease and I always thought he looked like a drinker.

In re: Russian sanctions - just as you say. There isn't much of a chance the poisoner would end up ahead. Russia would risk galvanizing the US against them even more if they killed a sitting Senator.

Odious though he may be.

I'm Graham's age, and I'm in better health. But I am absolutely aware that any moment could be my last. At this age, strokes and cardiac arrests can just happen without warning.

It's scary when Trump is the GOPer who is most rational, saying that it was just a natural death.

I have been sick and tired of lame duck Senator "Cornhead" for many years. I did not like or respect him as Attorney General before he became a Senator. I was very happy to see him beaten, since Paxton is a much less formidable candidate in the general election.

I was hoping he would act more like a responsible statesman after his primary defeat, but as this quote indicates, that is asking too much.

He remained suspiciously quiet and like McConnell (his good buddy), he squandered an attempt to exhibit true statemanship after the January 6th insurrection.

I am still hoping he will develop the audacity to stand up to the Felon on some vote before January of 2027.

Hang in there, Texas. My family was from a dirt spot way back, Clyde. I have much family and friends still there. I love many parts of Texas. Hang in there, love from Oregon. 🫶

Nothing wrong with wanting the truth to come out. If there's no "there" there; then no harm, no foul.

If the unreleased pages are just dupes, just release them and if you’re telling the truth… well, there’s a first time for everything!

Anyone who doesn't suspect foul play is a moron. It's probably natural causes... but not investigating would be malpractice.

I don’t know how you create a poison that can cause an aortic dissection.

Most likely this is just fodder for conspiracy theorists.

when I heard the news. He’d been traveling, he seemed fine (bodily fine, but of course his soul was MIA), no history of heart problems that we knew of, then landed back home and just died like Voldemort had put a curse on him. I mean, I know that happens but… I certainly wasn’t surprised by the hypothesis.

(or be murdered by ICE) BUT them. With them it's got to be some conspiracy.

My thinking is, if they actually HAD a means of doing away with someone like that, why would they use it on Graham??

Lunatics.

EDIT: By 'natural death' I don't mean the clinical definition of the phrase. I mean ways attributable to medical/physical causes other than foul play.
