These six-figure, 'new collar' jobs are most resistant to AI

High-paying jobs poised to survive potential replacement by artificial-intelligence tools have one thing in common: a human to make decisions.

These so-called "new-collar" jobs, as described in a Resume Genius study, pay well and are resistant to AI. Using a framework that scores jobs and skills on their resistance to AI, the study found the top jobs all shared as traits in-person trust, physical presence or the chance to be the one directing AI tools — not being replaced by them.

The jobs also had to have a median annual salary of at least $100,000, a positive projected growth rate over the next decade by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, minimal physical labor, and remote or hybrid work availability.

-snip-

The top 10 "new-collar" jobs as identified by Resume Genius are:

Marketing manager (median annual salary: $166,790)
Human resources manager ($149,280)
Sales manager ($148,270)
Computer network architect ($134,050)
Training and development manager ($133,000)
Information security analyst ($129,180)
Health service manager ($123,860)
Construction manager ($114,990)
Transportation, storage and distribution manager ($107,230)
General and operations manager ($105,770)

People should be making that money?
The ones doing the grunt work of all those people. The folks who have to Google what they're in charge of? They always make the most $$$

How about, paying a living wage to the person to cleans your house? Takes care of your kids?
Ope! They getting rounded up by your favorite president, and also, shot in the head, because they exist.

Yeah, we way outta whack priority wise in this country.

1600 sq ft. My house isn’t filled with clutter or knickknacks, either.

But, they clean every surface. Even the inside of my washer and dryer!

They are a couple so whole $300 goes to one household.

They make a very good living.

Expenses, household, food, maybe kids, taxes, car maintenance, fuel, etc... all come from that hourly wage. Good on ya, and their other clients who realize what it takes to survive 🥰

AI is not going to construct your house

AI is not going to wire your house

AI is definitely NOT going to clear your sewer drains

Those are all unionized work sectors, usually with good wages AND benefits

But, not mentioned ...

We have a whole lot of lovely challenged children, of all ages, who will never walk, may not be verbal, but will smile, laugh and absolutely know they are loved, respected, and cared for.

Their funds got cut too. This administration has Much to answer for.

I absolutely hate these surveys because they’re absolute trash. Completely useless. Marketing manager? lol, yeah good luck trying to get a position like this paying that kind of salary in a place that doesn’t cost $4-5k per month in rent… forget about a mortgage with 6%+ interest rates.

4. My kid was in the title of Manager, Sales Operations, until he got promoted to Director of Business Operations.

When his title was Manager, Sales Ops, he was making a lot more than $148/K a year. No idea what he makes now, but it’s a lot more. Plus he gets quarterly bonuses and stock. Has gotten that since he started with this company.

He works for a cybersecurity tech software company.

According to him, there is also a difference if your title has a comma after Manager than if it doesn’t.

As soon as AI's capabilities increase to be able to take these jobs, those people and their six figure salaries will be gone just like the rest of us.
