NV-GOV: Bodycam Footage Reveals GOP Governor Pressuring Cop to Let Him Go

Bodycam footage obtained by the Associated Press shows Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo using his name to successfully get out of a traffic ticket. Lombardo was pulled over in May by a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer.

“Hello, how are you doing, sir?” the officer asked Lombardo in the video while approaching the passenger seat of Lombardo’s white truck, where his wife was sitting. “The reason I’m stopping you is for the—”

“I’m Joe Lombardo,” the governor replied plainly, putting his index finger in the air.

“I’m aware. [I’m stopping you for] the red light violation back there. Your right turn onto Giles here.”

Pretty much everyone would try a little, we just don't know because a lot are let go. He handled it wrong though. He should have said I hope you're a Republican and laughed. I'm the governor lol. That might have worked.

Also works if you're a sports star. "I hope you're a Yankees fan." if he says yes, say "look at the name" (officer reads Derek Jeter) and laugh. If he says no, say "Well, I guess I'm getting the ticket" and laugh, showing him you're Jeter. He might get out of it even still, that's hilarious.

he causally asked if it would help if he said he worked at DSHES. The cop said, “why didn’t you say that before I wrote out the ticket?”
