I only learned today that Republicans were trying to merge the US and Israel militaries -- it was in the NDAA

that Dems just blocked in the Senate, thankfully.

What an insane and sickening idea!!!

And some have been critical of Corey Booker's stance on the legislation without understanding what's going on, iirc. littlemissmartypants 3 hrs ago #7

In June, Democrats on the House Armed Service Committee all voted (with one exception plus Khanna), along with Republicans, to reject an amendment put forward by Ro Khanna to strip the integration from the NDAA.

You read that right.

What you are referring to as Democrats blocking the integration is actually a vote to block debate on the NDAA, preventing it from advancing. The Democrats' rationale was that the NDAA would givce a "permission slip" for Trump to continue the Iran war without Congressional oversight. It was NOT a rejection of the integration, per se.

It remains to be seen how Democratic leadership deals with that in the future and certainly deserves close scrutiny. Glad you brought it forward.

There's a poison pill in the bill supposedly that gives the regime a backdoor to restricted voters' rights.
