Republicans ask Donald Trump to revoke Zohran Mamdani's citizenship
Source: MSN
The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) has called on the federal government to strip Zohran Mamdani of his citizenship and deport him.
On Tuesday evening, Mamdani, a 33-year-old self-described democratic socialist, declared victory over Andrew Cuomo, former governor of the state of New York, in the Democratic primary for the 2025 New York mayoral election.
The White House has framed the upset victory by Mamdani, who could become New York City's first Muslim and Indian American mayor, as evidence of uncontrolled migration, aligning with the White House's broader strategy of keeping border policy at the center of the national conversation.
"The Communist Control Act lets President Trump revoke Zohran Mamdani's citizenship and promptly deport him. The time for action is nowStephen Miller and Thomas Homan, New York is counting on you."

Playing silly little games with his citizenship status is disgusting. It's especially disgusting when done by sore losers.
I hope when he is officially announced after the ranked-choice is fully counted, he will have the protections on this board accorded to Democratic nominees.

Seems like that might be a good time for Dems to gain refugee status.

(10,669 posts)Mira Nair is a filmmaker.
If his mother naturalized before he was born, then he was American at birth. Given that she met her first husband in 1977 at Harvard and Zohran Mamdani was born in 1991... there's a fair chance she gained her US citizenship before Zohran was born.
But this is looking at Wikipedia entries.... And not making a bigger dive into records. What the NY Young Republicans are asking for is reprehensible... But if Zohran was born American, where to deport him to? Besides in my mind Zohran is more American than Boris Johnson was 10 years ago.

(52,562 posts)Since Donald J. Trump, current president of the United States, is a goddamn communist, and the New York Young Republicans Club by its support for Trump is therefore a communist organization, revoking the citizenship and deporting every single member of the NYYRC to North Korea where they belong would improve both New York City and North Korea.
It would improve New York City because it would remove the single biggest roadblock to making The City Great Again - not that it isn't already great.
It will improve North Korea because there is absolutely nothing anyone can possibly do to make North Korea worse.

Dear Make America Racist Again Crowd -
Your request to the racist, Stephen Miller and his sycophants in this Republican Administration, to recommend trying to disqualify and deport Zohran Mamdani is one more example of how far the Republican party has gone down the rabbit hole of this fascist regime. Are you so afraid Mr. Mamdani might win the election in NY City you have to resort to trying to get rid of him? Are you going to do the same with Melania Trump's and her 2001 EB-1, or Einstein visa? She clearly is no Einstein and somehow managed to immigrate to the United States along with her entire family.
You might be able to field a competitive candidate in NY City if the Republican Party had policies people supported. Instead, you think throwing money and slogans at people will somehow cover up the despotism and rot in your party. If Abraham Lincoln were alive today, he would not be in the Republican Party. He would be a Democrat fighting the racism, bigotry and incompetence that is the hallmark of todays Republican party. Your party and its ideas are closer to that of the Nazi party of 1933 Germany.
If you want to live in a limitless and laissez-faire society, try North Korea. We will help you pack your bags!

(2,890 posts)as suggested by the contact form posted down-thread,
and when it was submitted, the "completed" post had THIS message:
The important point to be remembered is that force, whether exercised by dissenters or by those who would suppress the dissenters, cannot be tolerated. The right to dissent must be protected, but those who dissent must observe the distinction between responsible dissent on the one hand violence and lawlessness on the other.
Louis J. Lefkowitz
So I guess deporting the likely Democratic nominee for Mayor of New York City,
is considered to be "responsible dissent" by the 'young Republicans of New York' ??!!
My message stated, "if you wish to make it "OK" for the POTUS to deport communists,
NAZIs are next, and you all fit that category---
and eventually Democrats will be in charge of the national government again,
and we won't forget about you! Please send me your membership list"

The FBI showed up at my uncle's house in rural NJ in the Fifties and interrogated him for more than three hours because he belonged to a cell in Pittsburgh decades before.
