Microsoft is laying off thousands of workers, its second mass layoff in months and its largest in more than two years.
The tech giant began sending out layoff notices Wednesday that hit the companys Xbox video game business and other divisions.
The company declined to say how many people would be laid off but said that it will comprise less than 4% of the workforce it had a year ago.
Microsoft said the cuts will affect multiple teams around the world, including its sales division.

(2 posts)This is not about A.I. -- no matter their comments to use it as an excuse.
I have family members affected by this latest layoff. No rhyme or reason to the cuts ... just workforce reduction.
And they just did a stock buy-back this last Fall.
And they reported $70B in revenue for the first quarter of this year!
THIS IS ABOUT GREED. Stock price and Dividends are driving factors.
People are no longer the "human assets" that make the company successful -- they're dispensable ... like paperclips.
