NATO Allies Sound Alarm on Russia Chemical Weapons

Source: Newsweek

Dutch and German intelligence services believe Russia is intensifying its use of chemical weapons in Ukraine, including the routine deployment of the chemical agent chloropicrin, which can be deadly when used in enclosed spaces. The assessment was revealed by the Dutch Defense Ministry on Friday, July 4.

It said the conclusion on Russia's use of chloropicrin is shared by the Dutch military and general intelligence services, MIVD and AIVD, and Germany's foreign intelligence service, the BND. A spokesperson for Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) told Newsweek they have faced similar allegations since February 2022, but "then, as well as now, no evidence was presented."

Chloropicrin is banned in war under the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), to which Moscow is a signatory. Russia is already widely using tear gas, the Dutch Defense Ministry said, and called the deployment of chloropicrin a "grave violation" of the CWC.

In 2024, the U.S. State Department had accused Russia of using chloropicrin against Ukrainian forces, and of having used "riot control agents as a method of warfare" in breach of the CWC.

and he knows it. He is desperately grasping for anything that will stop Ukraine and Europe from increasing the speed of collapse. It won't work Pooty. You'll go down in the pages of history as one of the worst tyrants in history. Likely in a three-way tie with Hitler and Stalin for the number one spot. Company you surely deserve.

That Putin supplied chemical bombs to Assad in Syria, for him to drop on the towns with resistors to his Government.......

I think they were chlorine bombs and wiped out every baby, child, besides every woman and man...
A horrifically agonizing death.

A team from the Hague and UN investigated for a year, gathering tons of evidence and proved conclusively that the shells were Russian, contained poisonous gas, and were dropped by Assad.

Definitely proving that both Assad and Putin were guilty of International War Crimes, and Crimes Against Humanity.....

This was during Trump's first occupation of the White House, and there was not a word of criticism out of him, and I can't recall the massive Republican U.S. Media even covering the story.........

If the outcome is deemed worthy and important, the laws and process bend to permit what's "good", words mean what they need to mean to accomplish the outcome. If the law's in the way, find a way around the law, because what's important? The outcome's important!

Not how I think a fair government runs.
