A CIA assessment concluded that Ukraine did not try to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin at his country residence as alleged by the Kremlin, a source with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

Ukraine had been aiming to hit a military target in the same region as the Russian president’s country residence, the source said.

Zelenskyy vehemently rejected Russia’s allegation in posts on social media, accusing Moscow of trying to sabotage peace negotiations.“

The first thing a real leader would have done is to call the intelligence chief to give him a detailed update on any possible attempt to strike the Putin compound and to hold his fire until intelligence provided that detailed update. But not Trump. He tied this story to how his lack of trust in Zelenskyy is why he withheld Tomahawk missiles from Zelenskyy. Withholding those missiles is prolonging the war and plays right into Putin's hands. A dumber ass I have never seen.

Also, they need to quantify "same region". Does that mean 10 miles or 100 miles or 500 miles? That is a glaring gap in the reporting.
