A potential New Year's Eve terror attack was thwarted in North Carolina, authorities announced Friday.
An 18-year-old suspect is under arrest, and had been planning the attack for about a year, U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson told reporters during a news conference.
The suspect, identified as Christian Sturdivant, allegedly planned to use knives and hammers in the attack, Ferguson said. When the FBI executed a search warrant at his home, investigators found those weapons hidden under his bed and notes detailing his alleged plans for the attack, Ferguson said.
The FBI's field office in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the suspect was "directly inspired" by ISIS.

(12,520 posts)Being a smart ass. Both are cultist willing to kill for their God. The difference is the color of the respective God of each, the extent they will go to kill for their God, one side will blow themselves up, the other just kills other people. (Children, women and elders included) And one side has much more expensive transportation, new tax payer funded SUVs or beat up Toyotas and Nissans, (for gas mileage even though they sit on all the fuel they need to go out and kill for God)
But both terrorist groups are led by ultra rich, God sent prophets, that will never shed a drop of blood, they just send their fools out for that. But the ISIS leaders at least read their magic book. And dont sell em for their own wealth and autographed.
Wish I could say Happy New Year and have the slightest belief it will be. Just more killing coming for those that believe their God is better.
But, gotta try to have hope, or why stay?
