ICE Barbie's Bonkers Drugs Press Conference Drowned Out by Protesters

Source: Daily Beast

Published Feb. 12 2026 8:51PM EST

Kristi Noem stumbled over her words as she tried to speak over sirens and protesters that drowned out her press conference on Thursday.

The embattled homeland security secretary, 54, appeared rattled by the chaotic scene that broke out in San Diego, California, as she tried to tout the success of the Trump administration’s hardline border security and anti-drug agenda amid plummeting public support for ICE.

Even before Noem walked up to the podium in Otay Mesa, which was surrounded by “evidence” boxes and what appeared to be bags of seized drugs, the venue was already shrouded in incessant siren noise.

Noem started by reading prepared remarks boasting about how the Trump administration is “winning” the fight against drug cartels and calling out what she described as increasing instances of assault against ICE agents. But when Noem started her Q&A, protesters joined the blaring sirens, causing her to struggle to hear questions from the press.

has been an abject failure since its inception. If the money spent on that stupid "war" had been spent on securing jobs and futures for people before they lapsed into drug use there might not be drug cartels flooding our streets with this poison.

Drugs are everywhere in this country, and if Ms.Noem believes she's making even a small dent in importation of drugs, she's as deluded as everyone else in tRump's administration.

I'm happy the protesters drowned out her photo-op. We don't need more of her lies piled upon her previous lies.

Drugs aren't going to disappear. People will always find a way.

Meanwhile, I'm sure Noem doesn't give a damn about drugs. This is a campaign to terrorize people and even to retaliate against Trump's perceived enemies.

It blows my mind every time I see that, and I'm so damn proud of my state. Now, that being said, the admin lied about most of what they said in their presser here yesterday morning, so it remains to be seen if they're REALLY pulling out.
