Donald Trump appears ready to wave the white flag in showdown with niece Mary Trump after discovery reversal

Source: Law & Crime

Jun 16th, 2026, 2:56 pm

Attorneys for Donald Trump and his niece, Mary Trump, jointly told a judge on Tuesday, the day that depositions were supposed to be completed, that the adversaries have "reached a settlement."

"The parties are pleased to report they have reached a settlement and anticipate being able to stipulate to the dismissal of this action with prejudice in the ensuing weeks, following completion of certain conditions," a court filing said, asking New York Supreme Court Justice Robert Reed to adjourn a conference currently scheduled a week from now and to "direct the parties to report on the status of this case by July 1, 2026, in the event this action has yet to be discontinued."

The development comes weeks after Law&Crime reported on a significant discovery win by Mary Trump.

The New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division, First Department, ruled she was entitled as a matter of law to documents that could help her prove she was fraudulently induced into a 2001 Trump family settlement after Fred Trump Sr.'s death, raising the prospect of a "final resolution" in a long-running dispute.

I want the next administration to go after Trump and his enablers with a vengeance. I want the next DOJ to go after Donald for the cost of the East Wing of the White House, the cost necessary to restore it. I want all the actions that have been taken to benefit Donald & enablers attacked by the DOJ, to include termination of all contracts with Musk. I want them to break up the mergers that Donald allowed and make entities like FOX have to have a banner indicating that they are an entertainment industry not a news source - playing every five minutes.

So many things I want, but more than that - I want the GOP destroyed as a political organization and damages paid to all the federal employees hurt by DOGE (funded by Musk), and the little minions that played a role in it either sued or imprisoned for harm to the federal government.

I want so much more - to include being the Devil so I can reside over their stay in hell when they die.

Watching his name be removed from everything he put it on will embarrass him. And to him that is almost as bad as jail
But let's be realistic; impeachment? Sure we could get that. But so what? He wont be convicted. Period.
Go after his minions? Sure; and possibly more successful. But HE wont care because it's someone else.
Best we can hope for (And I hate that he's made me this way) is a terrible rapid mental decline for all to see. Or a fast exit to the grave.

But dont make the same mistakes Biden did & immediately undo EVERYTHING trump ordered. It WILL backfire

....of Gerald Ford.

His decision to pardon Nixon didn't heal America. It let the wound fester, and it taught future wrongdoers how to avoid accountability. We saw "let's heal" and "let's look forward" after Iran-Contra and the Iraq War, both of which I think were worse than Watergate. (As much as I respect Barack Obama, I still haven't forgiven him for that last one.) The rationale was the same in both cases - Ford "healed" America by looking forward, so later presidents would, too.

Had Nixon been truly held accountable, in my opinion, some subsequent scandals might have been avoided.

It all depends on how the estate is set up. It would not surprise me a bit if his kids have their fingers in all of it but for the fact that he's such a control freak.

But he is also cognitively impaired, so they may find it easy with a willing attorney to bamboozle him.

The law will vary from state to state. There may be choice of law questions between the state of the decedent's residence on the date of death and the state where a lawsuit is filed.
