Can Tire Tracks Be Seen on Bottom of Lincoln Reflecting Pool?

What appear to be tire tracks have become visible on the floor of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after the landmark was drained for a second round of repairs, adding another point of intrigue to the Trump administration's troubled renovation project. As the pool is drained once again for repairs, photographs appear to show a series of parallel marks stretching across sections of the exposed pool floor.
The newly visible marks come amid continued debate over what caused damage to the recently renovated pool. President Donald Trump has repeatedly alleged that vandals slashed the pool's blue liner, prompting officials to drain the basin again to carry out repairs.
What Do the Images Show?
The photographs appear to show multiple sets of track-like impressions running across portions of the exposed bottom of the Reflecting Pool. It is not immediately clear what caused the marks. Maintenance crews, pumps, hoses and other equipment have been present around the site during the latest draining operation, and photographs from the scene have documented ongoing work by National Park Service personnel.
While some have suggested the marks resemble vehicle tracks, there is currently no public evidence indicating when they were made or whether they are connected to the repairs. The markings are likely to attract renewed attention because Trump's motorcade was driven across the drained Reflecting Pool during a highly publicized inspection of the project on May 7. Video posted by White House Communications Director Steven Cheung showed presidential vehicles traveling across the basin as Trump toured the renovation work.

Yep. These are tire tracks in the reflecting pool. Sediment has built up on the indents.
You can see where the front tires turned in unison.
10 years prison for Trump!

(208 posts)Sorry, but Trump's motorcade went close to the center of the reflecting pool. The photo is of the edge.
That said, I would be surprised if the motorcade did not damage the coating where it was driven over. Sealants take anywhere from 24 hours to 28 days to cure, and Trump was driving on it before they had even finished.

(20,931 posts)I don't know why there would be tracks from one vehicle when there were so many.

(174,429 posts)along the edge, the pool is around 18" deep but in the center, it is around 30" deep. So there might be enough slope on each to the center to shift more vehicle weight into the slope on one side. I expect the shocks on those limos are amazing for a smooth ride. Alternately, there looked to be a NPS vehicle, probably good for all terrain, that was at the lead.

(2,002 posts)Actually one photo shows at least 12 vehicles in Trump's motorcade including two limos and ten armored suv's plus a couple of side by side vehicles.
From the photos it looks like this was done more than once.

(78,467 posts)Donny needs to pay back for all the initial expenses and for all the repair afterwards. He has made
billions in grifting, bribes, stealing money from the American people, and market manipulation.
Those vehicles didnt look like this.

"No, no, we had vandalism. No, vandals. We have a, I think, 290-to-300-foot slit right through it. Probably a box cutter or a knife of some kind."

(14,803 posts)I haven't paid much attention to Trump's vanity circuses, but I thought I saw a reference to that somewhere.
On edit: Oh, I see the pics of his vanity motorcade in the empty pool now, in the thread below. You'd have to be pretty stupid/biased/incompetent to arrest someone for TOUCHING the pool after the potential for damage beforehand by the President publicly DRIVING through it.
