It was a deal for the buyer too, I got what I needed out of the car and the sale so I'm in a good mood over it. Now I'm down to my favorite vehicle that I've had for the last 20 years and it's going to last a lot longer.

It's a long, weird story but it ended up being a simple reprogramming of the key as several described. I coldn't do it right away due to snow around the car and the battery having gone too low and needing the big charger, etc... it took a few days to find out if that was the solution. I did a lot more research after the thread of ideas and found answers to a few more questions.

I addressed most issues and gave info to the buyer should she need to deal with any of that. I have repaired and replaced most of the components in need over the years I've owned it. I knew, when I bought it, that I would have to drop a few $K into it but stretched out over time and at my leisure. Wasn;t sure if it was a keeper or not. I ended up restoring both cars to some degree. Most of the work I had done won't be needed again.

Anyway, it turned out well and I remembered that I didn't do a follow up thread so this is it.

Progress. I love the smell of progress!

Most vehicles are weird long stories themselves!

I'm glad that it worked out in the end.

I was sweating selling it as I am not good with selling anything and worse when it comes to cars. I'd almost rather give them away than go through the agony of a sale. This was so easy. I was talking about my probable decision to sell in a conversation with my neighbor and she asked how much I want for it before I finished the sentence.

Couldn't have been easier.
