Miracle Whip. Heinz ketchup only. Showering. You been doing things in such a quirky way for so long you don't know it's a quirk.

(1,583 posts)My husband insists on a salad served separately. Meanwhile, I am scarfing mine down so dinner is not cold.
Gah!
But I still love him!😉

(1,488 posts)No others. What other sandwiches do you put chips on? Might have to try your suggestions.
And I definitely don't have OCD.

So my jealous and beloved Adelaide, won't smell another cat's scent
on my hands. Increases snuggle chances by 100%...

(4,650 posts)IDK it started in childhood, and some said I learned it from the aunt who had the lobotomy. She was also the only person in my family that listened to opera and didn't kill spiders. She was my favorite aunt.

(344 posts)Whether it's a cheeseburger, blt, tuna salad, reuben or whatever, I put one hand atop the other and squash that sucker flat as I can get it - even if the bread is a flatbread. Only exceptions are hotdogs, sort of: I squash the bun before I put anything in it.
The bread had better be toasted!

(26,921 posts)...of the rooms they are in. I like the switches to be positioned logically - flip it down and the light goes off, flip it up and the light goes on. It bugs me if they are "backwards."
I don't like it if my husband washes dish towels with underwear, and if he forgets and does that, I rewash the dish towels.

(18,657 posts)Dressing: Michael Stivic (All in the Family) - sock and a shoe, sock and a shoe.
Eating: Please keep my peas out of my mashed or mac & cheese. I try to eat things in the order of how long they'll stay hot.
>>> Mixed vegetables...NO THANK YOU!
Shower: dry myself starting at my head and going downward.
Getting in/out of the car: I readjust the steering wheel each time. (Don't mess with my seat.)
Traveling: Compulsively empty my pockets and change clothes when I get home.

(20,308 posts)So let's say I have chicken, rice, and broccoli. I finish the chicken, then finish the rice, then it's onto the broccoli.
My reason is that I need something to look forward to. If I ate little by little, I'd be disappointed.

then I cut up the chicken and mix it with the rice.
I make a mush.
Funny, It's just what I do, but then I'm left handed.

(7,907 posts)BLT. I want butter on my BLT. The other is, I must know where my pets are at all times, especially the dogs. I want Scout and Alexander in my line of sight. When they are outside, I check on them about every ten minutes. The cats sleep mostly upstairs, so I know their habits and movements. I cant change this habit, it is part of me. Does all of this qualify as quirky? 😏😳

(37,394 posts)I think its because when I was younger I would hear mosquitoes buzzing close to me at night. And I have also read that spiders can crawl inside ones ear when sleeping.
If there is any kind of bug or spider in the room I cannot sleep until the offender is removed and my bed and the room is thoroughly inspected.

(29,262 posts)I cannot stand for bread, chips, or tomatoes to get squished. So I hold all that stuff back when I check out, and I carry that bag to the car myself because my partner is
totally capable of watching me do this and then throwing a can on top of a package of hot dog buns or something. Problem is he doesn't mind squished bread or broken chips. But I do!
