Also, if possible, providing some shade will likely help keep temps down.

Exactly. Move it under a shade tree if possible. That would have to help a lot.

If you do have a bird bath or water feeders you have to keep them consistently filled or the birds won't be able to depend on them.
In my experience water feeders are great for smaller birds, my bird bath is mostly used by my pigeons for bathing. During the summers the water feeders runs out to quickly so I supplement that with a plastic tray (like under potted plants) that I keep filled with water.
