(15,724 posts)With the 8 of them, I think all but maybe one had alcohol problems. With the men, probably WW2 added to the mix. Then children and gchldren and so it went on. I think it is now going away. I sure hope so.

Americans put sugar in all kinds of dishes that donât require it. And one of the main reasons for this national aberration is ⦠Prohibition. ð§µ

(15,724 posts)But she mainly bypassed the sugar which is probably why I cannot abide many dishes that have sugar added served at BBQ places and church pot lucks. Now I find there is less sugar but way more salt.
