They respectfully waited six years. I feel that Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have the right to now perform as "Rush."

It's not like the ongoing debate in the music community about whether Bun E Carlos should still be in Cheap Trick.

Neil Peart CAN'T be in Rush.

So that leaves Lee and Lifeson with limited options.

1). Each goes out as a solo artist with pick-up backing musicians, under their name (as in "The Geddy Lee Band" ) and not as Rush

2). They form some kind of half-assed "super group," like when Jack Blades from Night Ranger, Tommy Shaw from Styx, and Nugent formed "Damn Yankees" (I always thought the band was crap).

3). They do what they're doing now. They go out as Rush, with a new drummer, a new keyboardist, and they make themselves and a whole lot of concert-goers happy.

The ONLY complaint I've seen is there was an uproar over ticket prices, but welcome to the wild world of the post-COVID "music industry."

To quote an old Country music song, "Why don't you leave them boys alone, and let 'em sing their songs..."

Myself included.

The price of tickets to their shows is insane, absolutely insane. I wanted to take my kid to one of the shows. I logged in to the account they set up for pre-sale 30 minutes early. Almost al the best seats were gone almost instantly. I did try for two in the lower sections and they were $1000 or so. I then "found" two "nose bleeds" for close to $1000 for both after all fees and taxes.

I passed. I saw them at their peak with Neil every tour in the 2000s including one from the front row. I'm good.

The Big Money Tour is what they should've called it.

Most of the tickets are more than $400.

Put simply, I can't go.

Also, that video of Finding My Way is not motivating me to want to go.

...he got into it with Robin, and to a lesser extent Rick.
Rumor was that Robin did a "him or me" to Rick & management.
Figuring it was easier to find a good drummer than a new "voice of Cheap Trick", Bun E was unceremoniously dumped.
A few years later he sued under the claim that the original agreement was that the band's company owned the songs, so as 35% owner he was entitled to royalties.
The out of court agreement was he would keep his 25% ownership, but would not return to the band ever & could not use references to Cheap Trick for his own projects.
So, there is really no chance of a reunion. Too much bad blood.
And, from what I was told, Bun E doesn't play that well anymore because of a bad hip & arthritis.

They were not that outrageously priced, if you were xareful. I think I paid under 300 each, and they're not nosebleed seats, they're decent, on Ged's side.
They were not that much more expensive than any of the last 8 times I saw Rush. They were hundreds more expensive than when I saw them in the late 70's and early 80's for like, $7.50 or something!
Editing to add, I'm excited. My beloved Professor is gone, but they hired a great chick to sit in and it had the added benefit of pisssing off the RW Rushmen contingent.

I also agree on item 2. Damn Yankees was an unimpressive & uninspiring effort.
