(29,725 posts)Here is a cover version that I also really like. The "triplets" doing backup are a single individual, Julien Neel. I've watched lots of his works, and am always intrigued by how convincingly he interacts with himself. If you like his stuff, search Trudbol on YouTube.

I bought a copy of Flamingo Serenade as soon as I was old enough to buy a car and drive to Denver.

(40,320 posts)So The Blues Brothers were mostly flying under the radar. Boy howdy, the band had nothing but All Star musicians!
Good luck snagging tickets for a WInterland New Years Eve concert.
Rubber Biscuit didnt make it into their album because its not a Blues song

(33,409 posts)That 12/31/1978 Winterland concert, with The Grateful Dead, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, and The Blues Brothers, was the final concert at Winterland, and lasted over eight hours.

(40,320 posts)I wouldnt be surprised if tickets sold out the first day.
Besides being the last concert at WInterland, it was also Donna Jean Godchauxs last concert with the Dead.

(40,320 posts)BIll Grahams comp list was legendary.
Fun story about the storied comp list: My buddys mom produced a Grateful Dead concert at the Sausalito Heliport. She paid a whopping $350 to the Dead, but the big plum was she was added to Grahams comp list; like clockwork, eight tickets arrived every week and my buddy became the big man on campus all through high school.
