These are too long probably but I can choke up on them like a baseball bat...I think they will work...Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion, no slap unless I use one mallet and one hand...possibility I think...

(4,374 posts)1. You can always cut some off the backend if the balance isn't to your liking.
Of course, you wont be able to slap with them but I do like the sound of mallets on congas.

I also have a cajon and a couple of frame drums that I will try...too much fun as I'm not a pro drummer and never took lessons but in my old age I love percussion sounds. I put streaming jazz radio (KCSM a fav) on my house smart speakers and play away...linky for KCSM below

How did you injure your hand?

(4,138 posts)4. I fell in an asphalt parking lot reaching for a rolling away soda bottle (dumb)...Jan 6th...doc says no caste...
Need to go to a different doc as it's not healing...life happens so jazz music is needed...

(4,138 posts)5. I received the mallets today, I think they will work well although I don't want to hit the skins too hard...
These are pretty firm and the felt is nice. Just have to temper my whacking...I think they will be good on my cajon too but haven't tried it yet...
