I'm sure you have heard about people taking pictures from the tripod holes at famous locations.
This cartoon fits right in....

Years ago I was in some different photo groups that would say that to get better pictures it helped to move around some and try different angles. Rather than driving up to the scenic overlook, getting out of the car, click, then on to the next. The tripod holes or marks came from the legions of people essentially taking the same picture.

It is just a reminder to look beyond the obvious shot.
